Finding the Perfect Final Resting and Hiking Place at Whispering Hills
Glenn and Tina Quiggle love the trails through the forest and meadows

It was the park-like setting that attracted retired teachers Glenn and Tina Quiggle when they first toured Whispering Hills.

“We feel so fortunate to have a beautiful, protected place like this in Georgia, and the fact that it is a natural cemetery and so close to home is a bonus,” said Tina Quiggle, a passionate hiker. “We’ve already chosen our spot and picked our tribute stones from the preserve to mark our future final resting place. Having those choices behind us offers up some serious peace of mind.”

Glenn is thrilled with the choice overlooking a streamside trail. “When our time comes, our kids and grandkids won’t be burdened with making these decisions and they will know we’re right where we want to be,” he explained, sharing a key benefit to preplanning. “We also know this is a place they can come, put on their hiking shoes, enjoy a walk through the woods and along the streams while visiting us and enjoying a picnic in this beautiful place.”

The Quiggles say residents across the region are truly blessed to have such a beautiful natural cemetery nearby.

Glenn and Tina Quiggle say the same trails they hike at Whispering Hills today will bring their family out to visit them for generations to come.

“This isn’t like any cemetery I’ve ever seen or experienced. It’s like walking through a national park,” Tina noted, as the couple hiked along a spring-fed creek that ultimately winds its way to West Point Lake at the northern end of the property. “It’s an incredibly beautiful gift for anyone who chooses this place for a loved one or as part of their own final arrangements, like we’ve done.”

Glenn, a 30-year Navy veteran, who retired from military service as a Commander, is happy Whispering Hills has an active veterans program. Whispering Hills works closely with U.S. Veterans Affairs to help families secure veteran medallions and funeral cost reimbursements for their loved ones who served.

Glenn wants a Navy medallion placed on his tribute stone when his time comes.

Tina pointed out that “as a veteran, Glenn has a number of cemetery options across the state and the country, but we love Whispering Hills and feel truly blessed to have this incredible natural cemetery nearby in the state of Georgia.”
